MANIKGANJ, March 6, 2026 (BSS) - National Jute Day was observed in Manikganj today under the joint initiative of the Manikganj District Administration and the Department of Jute.

The day's theme was "Develop the Jute Industry, Create Employment."

A colourful rally was taken out through the main roads of the district town to mark the occasion. Following the rally, a discussion session was held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.

Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana presided over the function.

Dr. Saleh Mohammad Ashraful Haque, Scientific Officer of the Jute Research Institute; Mohammad Osman Ali, recognized as the district's best jute producer; Md. Sakhawat Hossain, the district's best seed producer; and Usman Ali, a prominent local jute trader spoke at the event.
