BAGERHAT, March 4, 2026 (BSS) - The Kachua Press Club today organized a discussion and iftar mahfil to observe the religious significance of the holy month of Ramadan with due respect and solemnity.
The program, held at the Press Club auditorium, was attended by members of the local administration, law enforcement agencies, health officials, journalist leaders and other well-wishers.
Among the guests were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Asif Haider, Officer-in-Charge of Kachua Police Station Md. Shafiqul Islam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Muhammad Hasan Mahmud and Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Moni Shankar Paik.
The event was chaired by Kachua Press Club President Shahidul Islam Khokon and moderated by its General Secretary Ujjwal Kumar Das. It was also attended by Bangladesh Mofusal Journalists Forum President Tuhin Khan and General Secretary Suryoj Chakraborty, Journalists Society Kachua Upazila Branch President Tariqul Islam, Human Rights Organization Secretary Zahidul Islam Bulu along with local journalists from print and electronic media and other distinguished guests.
During the discussion held before iftar, speakers emphasized the values of restraint, self-purification, compassion and service to humanity embodied in the holy month of Ramadan. They noted that Ramadan is not only a month of fasting but also a significant period for strengthening self-discipline, moral character and social bonds.
The program concluded with special prayers and munajat seeking peace, prosperity and welfare for the country and the nation.
