BANDARBAN, March 2, 2026 (BSS) - The district administration, in
collaboration with the Department of Environment (DoE), fined an illegal
brick kiln Taka 2 lakh during a raid in Kagjikhola area under Baishari union
of Naikhongchari upazila of the district on Monday morning.
The mobile court was jointly conducted by Assistant Commissioner and
Executive Magistrate Md. Abu Abdullah of the Bandarban District
Administration. Assistant Director (AD) of the Department of Environment,
Bandarban Md. Rezaul Karim represented the prosecution during the drive.
According to mobile court sources, the kiln-- operating under the name 'NSB
Bricks'-- was found to be running without environmental clearance and valid
documentation.
The establishment was fined Taka 2 lakh for violating the law and the fine
was realised on the spot.
The district administration and the Department of Environment reiterated that
their campaign against illegal brick kilns will continue in order to
safeguard the environment and agricultural resources.
