HABIGANJ, March 2, 2026 (BSS) - A special programme to sell milk, eggs and 
beef at affordable prices has been officially launched in the district to 
support low and middle-income families during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arefin inaugurated the programme at 
1.00 pm on Monday (March 2) at the Nimtala premises in front of the Deputy 
Commissioner's Office.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Mainul Haque, Habiganj Sadar Upazila Livestock 
Officer Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, and other administrative officials were 
present at the ceremony.

Under the initiative, milk is being sold at Taka 80 per litre, eggs at Taka 
32 per bundle of four, and beef at Taka 700 per kilogram, prices 
significantly lower than prevailing market rates. 

The reduced pricing has drawn considerable interest from buyers since the 
programme began.
