RAJSHAHI, March 1, 2026 (BSS)- A cloth showroom in Rajshahi has been fined for falsely advertising the products as Pakistani and tampering the  price tags.

The National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate conducted a drive at the showroom named “House of Shippers,” located in the Sapura BSCIC Industrial Area of Rajshahi, at around 12:00 noon today.

During the drive, authorities found evidence that the establishment failed to display accurate import information and repeatedly altered prices on the price list to sell products at higher rates.

As a result, the showroom was fined Tk 10,000.

The drive was led by Md. Ibrahim, Deputy Director of the Rajshahi Division of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate.

After the operation, he said that although there were no Pakistani garments in the showroom, the business had been running false promotional campaigns claiming so.

The Tk 10,000 fine was imposed as a warning measure on charges of deceiving consumers.

He also stated that such drives would continue in the future to protect consumer interests.
