CHATTOGRAM, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS)- An elderly man was killed in a road accident 
in the Nizampur College area of the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Mirsarai 
upazila here this morning.
 
Nurul Alam, 65, the deceased and son of late Ali Ahmed Mistry of Purba 
Haitkandi village in Haitkandi union of Mirsarai upazila, was hit by a BSRM 
scrubber lorry while crossing the highway from east to west around 10:30 am. 
He died on the spot.
 
Confirming the incident, Kumira Highway Police Station In-charge Zakir 
Rabbani stated that legal action is being taken in response to the accident. 

The deceased's cousin, Nurul Mostafa, mentioned that Nurul Alam was on his 
way to Gafur Mosque in Sitakunda for Jummah prayers when the tragic incident 
occurred.
