SATKHIRA, Feb 26, 2026 (BSS) – The Para-military Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized two trucks and a passenger car containing 164 kg jelly-injected Bagda shrimp worth Taka 2.46 lakh from in front of the Sadar Upazila Parishad last night.
Commander of Satkhira 33 BGB Battalion Lt. Col. Kazi Ashikur Rahman said this in a press release today.
Based on a secret tip-off, a BGB team led by Assistant Director of 33 BGB Brigadier Abdullah Al Masum conducted a drive in front of the Sadar Upazila Parishad last night.
“A fish trader was fined Tk 43, 000 for his involvement in marketing shrimp fish laced with harmful substances, which is very harmful to the human body,” the release said.
The release said a large quantity of adulterated bagda shrimp was being sent to various districts of the country including the capital Dhaka by trucks for sale by some unscrupulous traders in Satkhira.
The BGB seized two trucks and an engine-driven Nasimon filled with bagda shrimp from there.
