RAJSHAHI, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS)- Former Rajshahi City mayor Mizanur Rahman Minu today said that if the people elect them by voting, necessary initiatives would be taken to develop the education and health sectors alongside creating employment opportunities for unemployed youths.
He said various initiatives, including establishing factories, will be undertaken so that no young person remains unemployed after completing their education.
Minu, one of the advisers to the BNP Chairman, former MP, and BNP-nominated parliamentary candidate in the forthcoming 13th National Election, made these remarks on Thursday while carrying out door-to-door campaigning in Ward No. 12 of the city.
He further said that during the tenure of the previous fascist government, people of the country were deprived of voting rights, democracy, and justice.
If the BNP comes to power, people’s rights will be restored. BNP will not engage in any activities that curtail public rights.
“I am aware of the long-standing problems and demands of the city residents. If elected, I will work tirelessly for the overall development of this area,” he said.
During the campaign, local residents spoke with the candidate and shared their various problems and expectations.
Many expressed frustration over rising commodity prices, unemployment, electricity shortages, and civic services.
Candidate Minu assured them of effective initiatives to address these issues.
Local residents said that Minu has long been involved in politics and has stood by the people of the area in both good times and bad.
As a familiar and acceptable leader, they want to see him elected. Spontaneous public participation and a positive response were observed during the campaign.
After the campaign, BNP candidate Minu addressed party leaders and activists, saying, “Campaigning must be carried out in a peaceful, disciplined, and people-friendly manner.”
