BAGERHAT, Jan 9, 2026 (BSS) - The closing ceremony and prize distribution of the 54th winter sports competition was held at Government Wazed Memorial Model Secondary School grounds in Mollahat Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shyamananda Kundu attended the programme as the chief guest and handed over prizes and certificates among winning students in various events. 

Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Mofizur Rahman presided over the function while Principal Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Academic Supervisor Rampad Biswas, Headmaster SM Farid Ahmed were present. 

A number of teachers, students, sports organizers, and guardians joined the occasion. 

Speakers highlighted the importance of sports in the physical and mental development of the students and called for the formation of a healthy nation through regular sports practice. 

Mollahat Upazila School, Madrasa and Technical Education Sports Association organized the event.
