MANIKGANJ, Jan 8, 2026 (BSS) – The Boro paddy and rice procurement drive in the district has surpassed its fixed targets, attaining remarkable success.

District Controller of Food (In-charge) Ayub Rayhan said the procurement of both paddy and rice has already exceeded the targets set for the district.

He said the Department of Food had fixed a target of procuring 184 metric tonnes of paddy and 954 metric tonnes of rice. However, a total of 285 metric tonnes of paddy and 1,431 metric tonnes of rice have been procured so far, and the procurement drive is continuing.

The District Controller of Food added that the government has fixed the price of rice at Tk 50 per kilogram and paddy at Tk 34 per kilogram.
