RAJSHAHI, Jan 8, 2025 (BSS) - Upazila administration has recovered 1.5 acres of government land valued at around Taka 100 crore from the long-lasting illegal occupation at Baneshwar under Puthiya Upazila in the district on Wednesday.
 
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shibu Das led the drive and evicted more than 50 illegal occupants who had been operating businesses by erecting unauthorized infrastructures for a long time. 
 
Paba Highway Thana Officer-in-Charge Mozammel Haque Kazi, Baneswar Market Leaseholder Zakir Hossain and Market Business Association President Matiur Rahman were present on the occasion.
 
Shibu Das told the journalists that they are conducting drives to protect the government properties and an important piece of land was recovered through this drive. 

Mozammel Haque Kazi said that today's outcome will contribute a lot towards reducing the traffic congestion in the area.

This type of drive will continue in the days to come, Shibu Das added.
