THAKURGAON, Jan 7, 2026 (BSS) - Some 150 transport workers have joined the BNP here in the district. 

The workers led by Bazlur Rahman, President of Baliadangi Upazila Motor Transport Workers Union, officially joined the party at a function held at BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's residence in the Kalibari area of the city this afternoon.

Upon joining, district BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin Phule welcomed the newcomers.

"Those who joined BNP today are basically our people. They were somewhat isolated due to 17 years of torture. Today, our people have returned to us and we are happy and proud of that," said Mirza Faisal Amin, noting that the move will strengthen the party.

District BNP General Secretary Poygam Ali, Municipal BNP President Shariful Islam Sharif, Baliadangi Upazila BNP Convener Advocate Yusuf Ali and Joint Convener Advocate Abedur Rahman were present among others.
