CHATTOGRAM, Jan 7, 2026 (BSS)- Two students were killed in a head-on 
collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Rangunia upazila of the district 
last night.
 
The deceased were identified as Abu Sufian Arman, 18, son of Md Kamal 
Bhandari of Abid Para under Ward-3 of South Rajanagar Union, and Md Akib, 16, 
son of Osman Gani of Haji Bari in Alamshah Para under Ward-7 of Lalanagar 
Union of the upazila.

Arman and Akib were class nine students of Dhamairhat Hazrat Shah Sufi Saleh 
Ahmed Sunnia Madrasa and Rajabhuban High School respectively.

According to police, the motorcycle carrying the two students collided head-
on with a passenger bus around 9:30pm on Tuesday in the Katakhali area of 
Rangunia on the Chattogram-Kaptai road, leaving both critically injured.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rangunia Model Police Station Md. Arman Hossain 
confirmed.

Being informed, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, 
he said, adding, "Arman died on the spot and Akib succumbed to his injuries 
at Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) around midnight while 
undergoing treatment."

Police seized the ill-fated vehicles involved in the accident and legal 
action is being pursued by the authorities, the OC further said.
