CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 7, 2026 (BSS) - A doa mahfil was held here on Wednesday afternoon seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The event took place at Old Stadium of the town. BNP nominated candidate for Chapainawabganj-3 Harunur Rashid, Abdul Wahed, president of Chapainawabganj Chamber and senior BNP leader, and Dr. Moha Emran Hossain, Principal of Chapainawabganj Kamil Madrasa, attended the mahfil, among others.

Prominent religious scholars present at the doa mahfil included Maulana Khairul Islam, Maulana Shafiqul Islam, Maulana Abdul Aziz, Maulana Abdul Basir, Maulana Zahid Khan, Maulana Amanullah and Maulana Abdul Hamid, among others.
