RAJSHAHI, Jan 7, 2026 (BSS)- A doa mahfil was held here today seeking eternal 
peace for the departed soul of former three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda 
Zia.
 
The programme was organised at noon at Bornally Crossing in the city by the 
district unit of Jobodal.

On the occasion, cooked foods were distributed among the destitute people.

District BNP Senior Joint Convener Saiful Islam, Jubodal Senior Joint 
Convener Faisal Sarker, District BNP Member-Secretary Bishwanath Sarker, 
Jubodal Joint Conveners Saddam Hossain and Nazmus Sakib Sarker and Member 
Abdul Kader, among others, were present at the doa mahfil.
 
In his speech as the chief guest, Saiful Islam said the contributions of 
national leader Begum Khaleda Zia, also the chairperson of Bangladesh 
Nationalist Party (BNP), to the struggle for restoring democracy and 
establishing human rights in the country will be remembered in history 
forever.

Today's gathering was to pray for the repose of her soul and prayed that the 
Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdous.
