RANGAMATI, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - A three-day training workshop for police members assigned to election duties was inaugurated in Rangamati today in preparation for the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections.
The workshop, organized by the district police, is being held for the 24th-25th batch of the fourth phase of training and began this Tuesday morning at the district police lines. District Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib PPM formally inaugurated the programme.
District Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md. Iqbal Hossain, along with senior officers of the district police, was present at the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib said the forthcoming parliamentary elections mark an important chapter in the continuation of the country's democratic process. He emphasized that to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections, every member of the police force must carry out their responsibilities with professionalism, honesty and impartiality.
He urged police personnel to remain highly vigilant while performing election duties to ensure voter safety, maintain law and order and keep the polling station environment peaceful.
Expressing confidence in the force, he said he expects district police members to perform their duties with discipline and dedication to help deliver a credible election.
In the fourth phase of the training programme, a total of 105 police members from different units of the Rangamati Hill District are receiving training.
