KHULNA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) – A doa mahfil was held here seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of uncompromising national leader and three-time former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme was organised by BNP leaders and activists of Ward No. 17 and 18 under Sonadanga Police Station of the city.

BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency Nazrul Islam Manju attended the mahfil as the chief and paid deep tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia. 

Speaking on the occasion, Nazrul Islam Manju recalled Khaleda Zia’s lifelong contribution to restoring democracy and protecting the rights of the people. He said she was a symbol of democracy and an uncompromising leader who fearlessly stood for the people of the country.

Among others, BNP leaders Arifuzzaman Apu, Nazrul Islam Babu, Asaduzzaman Murad, Anwar Hossain Khokon, Advocate Golam Maula, Jamirul Islam Jamil and other ward and city BNP leaders were present.
