SATKHIRA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - Two factories were fined a total of Taka 2.5 lakh during a mobile court operation in Sultanpur Borobazar of the district for manufacturing adulterated fertilizers and selling low-quality zinc, boron and TSP fertilizers. 

A large quantity of adulterated fertilizers and pesticides was also seized during the drive.

The operation was conducted on Sunday by Assistant Commissioner (Land), Sadar upazila, Md. Badruddoza, targeting fertilizer, pesticide and seed shops in the area.

According to officials, complaints regarding the sale of adulterated fertilizers and pesticides have increased in different parts of the country in recent times, causing crop losses for farmers and raising production costs. Authorities believe the drive in Sultanpur Barabazar will help safeguard farmers' interests.

Md. Badruddoza said the raid was carried out based on a tip-off and led to the detection of two fertilizer factories involved in producing adulterated products. 

During the operation, a huge quantity of adulterated fertilizers and pesticides was seized from M/s Robi Enterprise and M/s Islam Enterprise.
