BOGURA, Jan 4, 2026 (BSS) - An autorickshaw driver was killed and a passenger seriously injured in a road accident in Jhopgari Overbridge area of Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased was Mamun, 38, son of Abdul Hamid of Chandu Para in Subgram union of the upazila.

The accident took place around 11.00 am when a truck hit an autorickshaw from opposite direction, leaving its driver Mamun dead on the spot and passenger Mukter Ali, 40, injured.

Muktar Ali was rescued and admitted to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

SI Shaheed of Bogura Highway Police confirmed the incident. The body of the deceased will be handed over to his family after completing the legal formalities.
