BHOLA, Jan 03, 2026 (BSS) – Police have arrested Md. Jasim Uddin Mia (48), joint general secretary of Borhanuddin upazila unit of Bangladesh Awami League.

Jashim Uddin Mia, son of Jalal Ahmed Mia of the Gangapur union, was detained on Friday during a special drive under “Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2”.

Officer in-charge of Borhanuddin thana Md. Moniruzzaman said several cases, including sabotage and other criminal charges under the Penal Code, are remained pending in the police station against the arrested AL leader.

Later, he was produced to court and the court sent him to jail today.
