JAMALPUR, Jan 3, 2026 (BSS)- On the first day of scrutiny the Returning officer declared 12 nomination papers valid in three constituencies out of five in the district today.

The valid candidates are as follows-

Jamalpur-1 Bakshiganj-Dewanganj constituency: M Rasiduzzaman Millat (BNP), Muhammad Nazmul Haque Syedee (Jamaat-e-Islami) and Md Abdur Rouf Talukdar (Islami Andolan Bangladesh).

Jamalpur -2 (Islampur): Sultan Mahmud Babu (BNP), Md Samiul Haque (Jamaat-e-Islami) and Sultan Mahmud (Islami Andolan Bangladesh).

Jamalpur -3 (Melandah-Madarganj): Md Mostafizur Rahman Babul (BNP), Mohammad Daulatuzzaman Ansari (Islami Andolan Bangladesh), Mir Samsul Alam(Jatiya Party), Liton Miah and Md Rubel Miah (Gano Adhikar Parishad) and Fidel Noyem (Gano Sanghati Andolan.

The returning officer said scrutiny of the remaining two constituencies will be held tomorrow.
