CHATTOGRAM, January 3, 2026 (BSS)- A devastating fire broke out at Mirza Market in Nanupur Bazar under Fatikchari upazila burnt 18 shops completely.  

The incident occurred on Friday night, causing over TK one crore damages. The fire reportedly started on the second floor of Mirza Market around 3 am. 

In a short period, the fire quickly spread to nearby shops.  Upon receiving the information, a unit of Fatikchari Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene and successfully brought the fire under control within a few hours. 

  The affected shops, include    Mridul Pharmacy's medicine warehouse, Moti Tea Store, Bashundhara, Sohail Brothers, Jahangir Tailors' factory, Mofiz Saudagar and Nazim Saudagar's warehouse, Solaiman's shop, a mobile servicing shop, and a cloth store's warehouse. 

Fatikchari fire service officer Mohammad Ruhul Amin confirmed the incident and said their team promptly reached the scene and successfully extinguished the fire within a few hours. 

The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation. But we managed to save goods valued at nearly TK one crore from the site.
