BOGURA, Jan 3, 2026 (BSS) - Two passengers were killed and another was injured when a CNG-run autorickshaw overturned after being hit by a bus in Adamdighi upazila of the district on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 42, and his nephew Rasel Molla, 35, both residents of Argipara Achlai village in Shibganj upazila of the district. The injured passenger, Mizu Ahmed, 24, from the same village, was rescued and taken to a local hospital.

The accident occurred around 8.15am at Boro Akhirar More on the Bogra-Naogaon highway. According to police and eyewitnesses, a Naogaon-bound bus struck the auto-rickshaw from behind amid dense fog, causing it to overturn and twist.

Local people, assisted by members of the Adamdighi Fire Service, rescued the victims from the spot and rushed them to hospital. Rafiqul Islam and Rasel Molla were declared dead at the scene.

Officer-in-Charge of Adamdighi Police Station Ataur Rahman confirmed the incident and said the bodies were handed over to the families as no complaint was filed. An unnatural death (UD) case has been registered in connection with the incident.
