DHAKA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against former Kushtia Zila Parishad Chairman Robiul Islam and his wife Mosammat Banu Islam for amassing illegal wealth and concealing asset information.

ACC Assistant Director Md Bulbul Ahmed filed the cases with the commission’s Kushtia office after approval from the ACC headquarters, ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain told reporters in its regular briefing here today.

According to the ACC, Robiul Islam concealed assets worth over TK 37 lakh and amassed over TK 1.91 crore illegally, while his wife acquired over TK  1.42 crore as illegal wealth.

Robiul, also a vice-president of Kushtia district Awami League, allegedly used his position to accumulate illegal assets and later transferred a part of those assets to his wife’s name, the ACC said.
