CHATTOGRAM, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS)- Three activists from the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League (AL), were arrested by the Chattogram Metropolitan Police.
The arrests were made after police viewed video footage showing some leaders and activists of the banned BCL participating in a sudden procession in the Kazir Deuri area of Kotwali Police Station in the city on Tuesday.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Abdul Karim confirmed the incident.
He stated that all participants in the procession have been identified, and three of them have been arrested. Legal action is being taken against the arrested individuals as the operation continues.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, leaders and activists of the BCL organised a flash procession in support of the "Dhaka Lockdown" programme initiated by AL in the Kazir Deuri area of the city.
A video of the procession circulated on social media, showing Chhatra League members carrying a banner that read 'Bangladesh Chhatra League, Chattogram City' and chanting slogans in the name of "Sheikh Hasina".
Prior to this incident, another procession was conducted in the Sholashahar area of the city on Sunday under the banner of Chattogram North District Chhatra League. Police arrested three individuals later in that connection.
