Tuli launches campaign in Savar, calls for restoration of democracy

SAVAR, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate for 
Dhaka-14 constituency, Sanjida Islam Tuli, formally launched her election 
campaign today urging voters to support Dhaner Shish [the Sheaf of Paddy] 
symbol in the upcoming national polls to restore democracy in the country.

The campaign began with a roadside rally at Sadhapur Purana Bari area in 
Bongao Union under Savar where Tuli-also has been famously known for her 
involvement in campaigns against enforced disappearances and extrajudicial 
killings. 

She addressed a large gathering of supporters and residents.

Local BNP leader Shamsul Haque presided over the event while Masum Hawlader 
conducted it.

During the event, BNP leaders criticized the previous Awami League (AL) 
government, alleging its establishment of an authoritarian regime marked by 
suppression of dissent and restrictions on free speech.
 
They called upon voters to bring about political change through the ballot in 
the forthcoming parliamentary elections.

BNP's Assistant Secretary for Family Welfare and party's nominated candidate 
for Savar Dr. Dewan Salauddin Babu, Senior vice president of Dhaka District 
BNP and President of Savar Municipal BNP Khondaker Shah Mainul Hossain Biltu, 
former BNP leader Kofil Uddin, President of Savar Thana BNP Saifuddin Saiful 
and its Organizing Secretary Abul Khayer along with other local leaders and 
activists of BNP and its associate bodies joined the campaign.
