NATORE, Nov 2, 2025 (BSS) - Christians across the district today observed ‘All Souls’ Day’ a day of special prayers and remembrance for the departed — with due religious solemnity and devotion.

The day, observed annually on November 2 by Christians around the world, is dedicated to offering prayers for the peace of deceased relatives and loved ones.

Devotees visited cemeteries and lit candles at graves to honor the departed souls.

The main observance in Natore took place at the Queen Mother Maria Catholic Cemetery of Lourdes in Banpara, Baraigram, the largest Christian religious site in the district.

A special prayer service, described as a Christmas service by the organizers, was held in the afternoon, drawing thousands of worshippers.

Chief Pastor Father Dilip S. Costa led the principal prayer session, offering blessings and prayers for eternal peace. As evening fell, hundreds of candles were lit across the cemetery, illuminating the graves in a symbolic gesture of hope and remembrance.

In addition to Baraigram, All Souls’ Day was also observed in various Christian communities across Natore Sadar, Lalpur, Bagatipara, and Singra upazilas, where believers gathered for prayers and candle lighting ceremonies.
