CHATTOGRAM, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS)- A youth tragically lost his life this morning after being struck by a train at Middle Sonapahar BSRM gate in Mirsarai upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Mohiuddin, a truck driver and also the son of Azizul Hoque of Sonapahar area of Jorarganj Union.

Ashraf Uddin Siddiqui, in-charge of Sitakunda-Railway Police Outpost, confirmed the incident. 

The accident occurred when an intercity train "Paharika Express" crushed Mohiuddin under its wheels on the Dhaka-Chattogram railway line (upline) in the Sonapahar area of Jorarganj Union around 9 am today as he was standing near the railway line, the police official said.

He died on the spot, he added.

Being informed, police recovered the mutilated remains of Mohiuddin's body.
