MADARIPUR, Sept 27, 2025 (BSS) – Police have taken all-out preparations for ensuring safe and peaceful celebrations of the five-day long Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu Community, begins tomorrow.
“We are completely prepared for peaceful celebrations of the Durga Puja,” said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallick after visiting the Sri Sri Radha Govinda Temple in the district.
The DIG said the Durga Puja is not merely a religious festival rather a symbol of religious harmony. We hope everybody will celebrate the Durga Puja together in a peaceful manner, he said.
Mallick, who was born and brought up in Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur, recalled his childhood memories with the temple and called upon all concerned to contact him in case of any problem they face in this regard.
“It is my duty to maintain the law and order (in Madaripur as it falls under Dhaka Range),” he said.
The DIG has assured of full cooperation from police in strengthening security at the Puja Mandaps and ensuring required measures for uninterrupted celebrations of the Durga Puja by the Hindus devotees.
Madaripur district police super Mohammad Naimul Hasan and Shibchar Upazila Executive Officer Ibne Mizan, among others, were present on the occasion.
