KISHOREGANJ, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) - Vegetable seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among 600 farmers of Pakundia upazila under the agricultural incentive programme.

The Upazila Agriculture Department distributed the seeds and fertilizers to encourage farmers to cultivate vegetables on their land.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Billal Hossain handed over the incentives to the farmers at a function organized by the Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in front of the Upazila Public Library auditorium this afternoon.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Noor-e-Alam, and DAE officials Hafiza Akhter and Swarna Chakraborty were present. 

DAE office sources said a total of 360 farmers from nine unions and one municipality of the upazila were given 10 kg each of DAP and MOP fertilizers under the incentive programme for the 2025-26 fiscal year. 

Besides, 70 farmers were given gourd seeds, 140 were given brinjal seeds, 50 were given sweet pumpkin seeds, and 100 farmers were given cucumber seeds.

In addition, 240 farmers were given various types of vegetable seeds, including spinach, red leaf, peas, gourd, and radish, to build family nutrition gardens.
