KHULNA, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS)- A Khulna Court on Thursday sent a criminal to Jail in an arms and ammunition case.

The accused was identified as Ashraful Karim Rony, 45, son of the late Kamrul Karim, of Dheuatola Road under Batiaghata Upazila in Khulna.

Detectives arrested him from Goborchaka Main Road in the city on Wednesday afternoon along with a pistol, two rounds of bullets, and a magazine in his possession, police said.

There are as many as 12 cases against Rony in different police station, on charge of criminal activities.

Police said, Rony has confessed about his involvement with crime activities including extortion, abduction and terrorism for a long time.

Police produced Rony before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court this afternoon with a remand prayer. But the court sent him to jail and ordered that remand petition will be heard on the next hearing day.
