JHALAKATHI, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) - Vegetable seeds and fertilizers were distributed today among farmers in Sadar upazila under the agricultural incentive programme to increase the production of early winter vegetables.
 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farhana Yasmin distributed the incentives among the farmers as the chief guest at the upazila parishad premises. 

Upazila Agriculture Officer Ali Ahmed and other officials were present on the occasion.  

Under this incentive programmme for the 2025-26 fiscal year, 375 farmers who are able to cultivate in their homes are being provided with 7 types of vegetable seeds. 635 farmers who can cultivate in the field are being provided with seeds along with fertilizers. 

Of these, 110 farmers have been provided with gourd seeds, 175 with sweet pumpkin seeds, 175 with brinjal seeds and 175 with cucumber seeds. 
Each farmer was given 10 kg of Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and 10 kg of muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizers. 

UNO Farhana Yasmin said, “The incentive programme is a special initiative of the government for increasing vegetable production during the winter season. As part of the government, seeds and fertilizers were distributed to farmers in Jhalakathi district.
