PANCHAGARH, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) – Speakers in an orientation workshop today said that vaccination is crucial to prevent typhoid because the disease spreads through contaminated food and water and becomes fatal if not diagnosed and treated on time.
They expressed the view at the workshop held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Monday for successful implementation of Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025 in the district.
Panchagarh District Information Office organized this workshop, a press release of PID’s Rangpur Regional Office said.
Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner Md Sabet Ali was present as the chief guest presided over by District Information Office Information Officer Ujjwal Sheel.
Panchagarh Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Additional District Commissioner Suman Chandra Das and Director of the Department of Mass Communication Dalia Yasmin (virtually) were present as special guests.
The chief guest said that the representatives present at the workshop should play an active role in conveying correct information about this vaccine to the students.
Regarding the spread of misinformation regarding vaccination, he said that many people are spreading misinformation about vaccination. Effective steps need to be taken to prevent this misinformation.
“In this regard, the Upazila level Scout and Girl Guide members can play an important role. he said, and urged all concerned to successfully implement the typhoid vaccination campaign.
Government officials, Scout members and journalists were present at the event.
