RANGPUR, Nov 30, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 0.74 percent Covid-19 positivity rate as two fresh cases were reported after testing 270 new samples in the division on Tuesday.
Health officials said the coronavirus situation continues to improve amid constant declining positivity rate and rising recovery rate during the last three months in the division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 2.59 percent on Monday, 1.84 percent on Sunday, 5.49 percent on Saturday, 1.75 percent on Friday, 3.03 percent on Thursday and 2.44 percent on Wednesday last in the division.
Two new positive cases were diagnosed after testing 82 samples at the Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur today.
“The two new Covid-19 patients include one each from Rangpur and Gaibandha districts,” Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told BSS at 3:45 pm.
“Meanwhile, none was tested positive after diagnosing 188 samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur today,” said Principal of MARMC Professor Dr Syed Nazir Hossain.
Talking to BSS, Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,562 as two new positive cases were reported today from the division.
“The district-wise break up of total 55,562 patients include 12,508 of Rangpur, 3,823 Panchagarh, 4,460 of Nilphamari, 2,748 of Lalmonirhat, 4,646 of Kurigram, 7,663 of Thakurgaon, 14,844 of Dinajpur and 4,870 of Gaibandha in the division,” he said.
