MANIKGANJ, Nov 28, 2021 (BSS) - The elections to 10 Union Parishad (UP)'s
of Manikganj Sadar Upazila in the district started in a peaceful atmosphere
with festivity this morning.

  The voting began at 8 am and it will continue till 4 pm without any break.

   The Election Commission has taken all necessary steps to hold the
elections in free and fair manner.

  District election office sources said a total of 38 candidates are
contesting ten chairmen, 333 for 90 general members and 107 female candidates
for 30 women reserved posts.

   A total of 201690 voters including 100811 female voters are casting their
votes in 483 booths of 90 centers.

  District Election Officer Sheikh Mohammad Habibur Rahman said a total of 90
Presiding Officers, 483 Assistant Presiding Officers and 966 Polling Officers
were appointed for conducting the election peacefully.

   Law enforcers have been deployed in all voting centers to maintain law and
order situation.
