KHULNA, June 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar here today said the interim government is heading toward the 13th national parliamentary election.

Referring to the recent London visit of the Chief Adviser, he said that the election might be held around mid-February next year. “Jamaat-e-Islami is an election-oriented political party. Therefore, from now on, we must prepare to create a mass wave in support of the “scale” symbol of Jamaat-e-Islam Bangladesh for the upcoming election,” he added.

He made the remarks at several roadside gatherings at Sikirhat, Fultala Bazaar, and the Shiromoni Shaheed Minar premises in Khulna, organized by the local Jamaat as he returned home after performing the holy Hajj.

The day-long gatherings began at Sikirhat Ferry Terminal, followed by Fultala Bus stand area and Shiromony Shaheed Minar premises.

Master Mofizul Islam, Ameer of Fultala Sadar Union Jamaat, Professor Abdul Alim Molla, Ameer of Fultala Upazila Jamaat, and Dr. Syed Hasan Mahmud Tito, Ameer of Khan Jahan Ali Thana Jamaat chaired the meetings respectively.

Golam Parwar further said that over the past 54 years, the people have witnessed the rule of various political parties, none of which brought about the desired welfare for the nation.

“Previous governments have turned the country into an unstable state through killings, looting, corruption, oppression, and injustice. Now, the people are beginning to say that they have seen the rule of all parties, except for Islamic governance. That is why our Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has called for building a new Bangladesh and has announced a framework for a people-oriented and welfare-driven state,” said Golam Parwar.

Professor Parwar also said that if Islam-loving members are elected Jamaat to the next parliament, Bangladesh can truly be transformed into a “Golden Bengal.”

He further added that after the public uprising of 2024, there is now an opportunity to rebuild the lost path of Bangladesh.

In this newly liberated Bangladesh, gained through the martyrdom of over 2,000 students and citizens and the crippling of about 30,000, no force should be allowed to give birth fascism again, to create inequality, or to commit injustice, oppression, occupation, and extortion, he said, adding that everyone must remain vigilant, otherwise, the dreams of our youth and citizens will be shattered.
