CHATTOGRAM, June 12, 2025 (BSS) – A Madrasa student died after sinking in a pond at Jamiatul Mamur Jame Masjid pond in South Haidthkandi village under Mirsari upazila this afternoon. 

The deceased was identified as Salahuddin 14, son of Jahir Uddin, a seventh grade student of Saheirkhali Habibia Dakhil Madrasa in Mirsari upazila. 

Haitkandi Union Parishad member Masud Hossain confirmed the matter.   

Imam Hossain, the deceased's maternal uncle, said that Salahuddin went to bathe in the pond next to the house this afternoon. At one stage, he drowned. 

Unable to find him, family members and locals started searching and his lifeless body was found floating in the pond.
