Eid-ul-Azha celebrated in Khulna with due religious solemnity

KHULNA, June 7, 2025(BSS) - The holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in Khulna today with due solemnity, religious fervour and great enthusiasm.

On the occasion, national flags were hoisted at sunrise atop all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private buildings. Major roads and intersections across the city were decorated with banners inscribed with “Eid Mubarak” in Bengali and Arabic.

The main Eid congregation (Jamaat) was held at 7.30 am at Khulna Town Jame Mosque.  Khatib of the mosque, Maulana Mohammad Saleh conducted the prayer and munajat.

The second and third congregations at the same mosque was held at 8.30 am and 10.00 am respectively, conducted by Hafiz Maulana Nasrullah and another Imam.

High-ranking officials including Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Firoz Sarkar, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam, political leaders, and thousands of Muslims joined the main congregation. 

Special prayers were offered for peace, progress, and prosperity of the country as well as   Muslim Ummah. Devotees exchanged Eid greetings with each other following the prayers.

Another  Jamaat was also held at 7.30 am at the Model Mosque adjacent to Khulna Alia Madrasa. 

Additionally, Khulna City Corporation arranged separate congregations in all 31 wards of the city.

Eid prayers were also held at different places throughout the city, including Baytun-Nur Jame Mosque near New Market, Jila School Jame Mosque, District Police Lines Mosque, Dakbungalow Mosque, Moylapota Baitul Aman Mosque, Munshipara Mosque, central fields of Khulna University and Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Sonadanga Hafiznagar Mosque, Khulna Islamabad Eidgah, Khalishpur Eidgah, PTI Mosque, UN Children’s Park, KDA, Nirala Mosque, Siddiqia Madrasa, Darul Ulum Madrasa, Nirala Tabligh Mosque, Iqbal Nagar Mosque, Sonadanga Inter-District Bus Terminal Mosque, Rupsha Baytush Sharaf Mosque, Ferry Ghat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) Mosque, Gobarchaka Mosque, Arongghata, Notun Rasta Mosque, Dakshin Kashipur Mosque, Tutpara, Miyapara, Shekpara, Bosupora, Joragate C&B Colony Mosque, Boyra Metropolitan Police Line, Khalishpur Crescent Jute Mills, BL College, Deyana Eidgah, Sonadanga Residential Area, Khanjahan Nagar Khalashi Madrasa Eidgah, Moheshwarpasha, Daulatpur, Khalishpur and Khanjahan Ali Police Station Eidgah grounds.

Improved diets were served among the inmates of hospitals, prisons, government children’s homes, Shishu Nibash, centres for people with disabilities, shelter homes, safe homes, vagabond welfare centres, and centres for the destitute to mark the occasion.

 Khulna centre of Bangladesh Betar is broadcasting special programs highlighting importance of the most sacred festival.
