RCC takes measures for quick disposal of sacrificial animal waste

RAJSHAHI, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has taken all necessary measures for the removal of sacrificial animal waste within the night to avert environmental pollution in the city.   

As part of the efforts, the RCC has fixed the selective spots for slaughtering sacrificial animals on the forthcoming day of Eid-Ul-Azha in the city. 
 
RCC Administrator and Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Khandaker Azim Ahmed revealed this while addressing a meeting with all of his divisional heads and others concerned at his city bhavan conference hall here today. 
 
Chief Executive Officer Rejaul Karim, Chief Health Officer Dr Anjuman Ara Begum and Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Mamun also spoke. 
 
Khandaker Azim Ahmed said the city corporation is working for the safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within the stipulated time so that the city residents can see a neat and clean environment within the shortest possible time. 
 
He urged the city dwellers to slaughter the animals only in selected places to keep the metropolis along with its air and water free from pollution and other contamination. 
 
The Administrator laid the importance of planned and hygienic slaughtering of animals for protecting the public health from any sort of infectious diseases. 
 
He said collective efforts of all quarters have become a crucial issue to control the community-level zoonotic diseases. 

The meeting said all the important roads will be cleaned from 11 am and two water tanks will be engaged from 2 pm to remove and clean all blood-stained wastes.

Apart from this, bleaching powder and lime will be sprayed in all the slaughtering spots for environment protection through emitting bad smells.
