CHATTOGRAM, May 28, 2025 (BSS) - A team of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) conducted a raid at Chattogram railway station based on allegations of black market ticket sales, financial irregularities, and passenger harassment in preparation for the upcoming Eid holiday.
During the raid, the ACC team unearthed evidence of various irregularities including ticket black marketing. The ACC confirmed that evidences of these irregularities were found during the raid conducted on Tuesday.
The ACC said that its members attempted to purchase tickets undercover and observed that extra charges were being levied for ticket purchases.

Ticket booking assistants were found to be involved in black market ticket sales in collaboration with members of the Railway Security Force (RNB) on duty at the station.

The ACC team obtained direct evidence of this gang activity during the raid. Additionally, the ACC team inspected the coaches of the Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Express train on site and observed passengers gaining entry to compartments without tickets.

It was observed that passengers were being allowed to enter the compartment without tickets in exchange for additional payments. Efforts are underway to identify railway employees involved in these irregularities.

ACC Chattogram Deputy Director Subel Ahmed said that a comprehensive report will be submitted to the commission following a review of the information and evidence gathered during the operation after which legal action will be pursued.
