CHATTOGRAM, May 26, 2025 (BSS) - An elderly man was crushed under the wheels of a train at Bariyarhat area under Mirsarai upazila in Chattogram district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Manik, 61, hailed from Musa Mia Bari in Sonapahar area under Ward No: 8 of Zorarganj Union in Mirsarai upazila.

Chinki Astana Railway Station Master Sirajul Islam said Manik was crushed under the train while crossing the tracks around 8pm on Sunday night in the aforesaid area.

SM Sahidul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Railway Sadar Thana, said an elderly man died under the train while crossing the rail track last night.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Chattogram Medical College and
Hospital (CMCH), he added.
