KHULNA, May 05, 2025 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) on Monday has begun distribution of Radio Frequency Identification Cards (RFID) to owners and drivers of passenger and goods-carrying easy bikes to operate within the city.
KCC Administrator Firoz Sarker inaugurated the RFID card distribution program as the chief guest at the GIZ Auditorium in the KCC’s Nagar Bhaban.
The Q R code implanted in the RFID card will enable easy identification of legally authorized easy bikes approved by KCC. This will also help prevent the use of fake blue books, number plates, and stickers, which are often used to mislead the authorities.
As a result, illegal easy bike operations will be curbed, contributing positively to reducing traffic congestion in the city.
The RFID cards can be collected from the Licensing (Vehicles) Section on all working days between May 6 and May 22, 2025, from 9:00 am to 3:30pm.
Easy bike owners/drivers are also asked to carry the supplied RFID card and blue book while operating on the road and to ensure that the digital number plate and sticker are displayed in the designated places on the vehicle.
In addition, it has been mandated that easy bikes operating in the city must have red canopies and green bodies, and the right side must be closed with stainless steel (SS) pipes.
From May 22 onwards, any easy bike without an RFID card, blue book, digital number plate, and sticker will be considered illegal, and legal action will be taken against them.
KCC Chief Executive Officer Laskar Tajul Islam, Chief Revenue Officer Rahima Sultana Bushra, Chief Planning Officer Abir Ul Jabbar, Revenue Officer S.K.M. Tasadduzzaman, Public Relation Officer (PRO) Md. Abdul Mazed Mollah, among others, were present on the occasion.
