Akhtaruzzaman Babu is part of Liberation War history: City AL

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 5, 2021 (BSS) - Chattogram City Awami League (AL) leaders
said that Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Babu is part of the great liberation war
history and he upheld the ideals, image of the party and spirits of
liberation war till his death.

  "Babu's Jupiter House at Patharghata was the camp for the freedom fighters
in the city in 1971. Sitting here, the then local leaders of AL took decision
and disseminated the messages of the declaration of independence," they
added.

   They said that Babu was the leader of mass people and one the prime
organizers of liberation war.

   The city AL leaders expressed the views at a memorial meeting, organized
by City AL on the occasion of the 9th death anniversary of Akhtaruzzaman
Chowdhury Babu, former presidium member of Bangladesh AL and president of
Chattogram South District AL, held at Theater Institute Hall on Thursday
night.

   Speaking at the reminiscence, acting president of city AL Mahtab Uddin
Chowdhury said that Babu bhai was an unparallel and uncompromising leader of
AL and he never surrendered to any injustices," he added.

   City AL general secretary and former Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said that late
Babu bhai never betrayed with the party and followed Bangabandhu's ideology.

   He was an important leader in the politics of AL in the region, he added.

  City AL vice Presidents Alhaj Naeem Uddin Chowdhury, Advocate Ibrahim
Hossain Chowdhury Babul, Alhaj Khorshed Alam Sujan and Altaf Hossain
Chowdhury Bachchu, joint secretaries Syed Hasan Mahmud Shamser and Jalal
Uddin Iqbal, City AL leaders Saifuddin Khaled Bahar, Abdul Latif Tipu and Dr.
Nesar Uddin Ahmed Monju, among others, addressed the function as guests.
