Three held with ganja in Nilphamari

     RANGPUR, Oct 28, 2021 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) seized

5.10 kgs of smuggled ganja and arrested three presumed drug traders from
Garagram point on the Paglapir-Dalia road in Kishoreganj upazila of
Nilphamari district on Wednesday.

     "Acting on secret information, an operational team of RAB-13 from its
Rangpur battalion headquarters set up a check post and searched a suspected
motorcycle and arrested the three persons with smuggled dry ganja," said a
press release issued here today.

     The elite force also seized three mobile phone sets, the motorcycle and
Taka 8,000 in cash from their possessions.

     The arrested presumed drug traders are Manoranjan Sarker, 48, Nur
Mohammad, 55, and Md Mostafa Kamal, 20, of Nilphamari district.

     During primary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted that they
had been involved in drug trading for a long time.

     "After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the
arrested people to Kishoreganj police station in Nilphamari, the release
said, adding that efforts are on to nab the other absconding associates of
the detainees.
