RANGPUR, Oct 19, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 2.48 percent
Covid-19 positivity rate as seven fresh cases were reported after testing 282
new samples in the division on Tuesday.
Health officials said the coronavirus situation continues improving amid
declining positivity and casualty rates and rising recovery rate during the
last two months in the division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 2.72 percent on
Monday, 2.42 percent on Sunday, 3.29 percent on Saturday, 5.32 percent on
Friday, 2.24 percent on Thursday and 3.14 on Wednesday last in the division.
"Among the seven new patients, none was reported positive after
diagnosing 94 new samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical
College (RpMC) in Rangpur today," Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM
Nurunnobi Lyzu told BSS tonight.
On the other hand, seven new patients were reported after diagnosing 188
samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC)
in Dinajpur at the daily positivity rate of 3.72 percent today.
"The seven new Covid-19 infected patients include two from Dinajpur and
five from Thakurgaon district alone," Principal of MARMC Professor Dr Syed
Nazir Hossain said.
Talking to BSS, Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Motaharul Islam said
the number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,230 as seven new positive cases
were reported today from across the division.
"The district-wise break up of total 55,230 patients include 12,445 of
Rangpur, 3,800 Panchagarh, 4,436 of Nilphamari, 2,737 of Lalmonirhat, 4,635
of Kurigram, 7,599 of Thakurgaon, 14,722 of Dinajpur and 4,856 of Gaibandha
in the division," he added.
