CHATTOGRAM, Oct 11, 2021 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP)
arrested three men for allegedly vandalizing idols of Hindu gods
at a mandap (makeshift temple) in city's Dewanji Pukur
area today.

The arrested persons were identified as Dulal, 35, Kabir, 42 and
Iqbal, 32. All of them were labourers of fruit storehouse in the same area.

Sukant Chowdhury, sub-inspector of Kotwali thana police said that
police arrested three men early Monday for
allegedly vandalizing an idol by throwing stones at a
puja mandap in city’s  Dewanji Pukur area.

Following the incident, police launched a drive and
detained the three men from the aforesaid area, the sources added.

High officials of police and leaders of Puja Udjapon committee visited
the place of occurrence after the incident.
