MANIKGANJ, April 23, 2024 (BSS) - A sub-assistant engineer of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) was killed in a road accident today on the Beuth road in front of the district LGED office.

The deceased was identified as Md. Abdul Mozid, 55, son of Abul Hashem Matabbar, a resident of Uthuli under Shibalaya upazila of the district and working at Ghior upazila as a sub assistant engineer of LGED.

The accident occurred around 7.30 am when a speedy motorbike hit a rickshaw, leaving rickshaw passenger Mozid injured seriously.

Local people rescued him and sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was returning at his Manikganj town home from Beuth Bazar by the rickshaw.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Police Station Md. Habil Hossain confirmed the matter.
