CHAPAINAWABGANJ, September 21, 2021 (BSS)- After five days one more

person died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours raising the total number of
deaths to 157 in the district.

    The new fatality is from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

    A total of 105 persons of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, 31 persons of
Shibganj upazila, 10 persons of Gomostapur upazila, six persons of Nachole
upazila and five persons of Bholahat upazila have so far died of COVID-19 in
the district.

    On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 5,839 as four
more people were detected positive after testing 70 samples in the district
during the last 24 hours while the infection rate is 5.71 percent, Civil
Surgeon Office sources confirmed.

    The newly detected patients are from sadar upazila.

    At present there are 100 COVID-affected patients in the district and of
them, 36 patients are undergoing treatment in dedicated Covid hospital and
others at home.

    Meanwhile, 5,582 patients have recovered from the disease here, the
sources added.
