CHATTOGRAM, March 21, 2024 (BSS)-Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Rangunia and Boalkhali upazilas of the district here today.

The victims were identified as CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Md Abdul Hannan, 35, and truck driver Azizur Rahman, 37.

A fish-laden truck collided headed on with a CNG auto-rickshaw on Chattogram-Kaptai road under Rangunia upazila at 9 am that killed the auto-rickshaw driver on the spot and injured three passengers of the auto-rickshaw.

Police rushed to the spot and took the injured to the local Upazila Health Complex, said Duty Officer of Rangunia thana.

Police seized the vehicles but the truck driver fled away from the spot.

Meanwhile, the truck driver died when his truck capsized in a paddy field at Sreepur Bura Masjid road under Boalkhali upazila this morning, said Asaf Uddin, Sub-Inspector of Boalkhali Thana.

Later, the body was taken to local health complex, he said.
