CUMILLA (DAKHIN) , March 12, 2024 (BSS) – Four people were killed and three otehrs injured as a truck overturned in Chandina upazila of the district early today.

The accident occured at around 5:30 am in Belashahar area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway under Chandina upazila.

The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 23, Monir Hossain, 28, Habibur Rahman, 32, and Akter Hossain, 35. Rafiqul Islam was a resident in Satkhira district while Monir Hossain, Habibur Rahman and Akter Hossain were the inhabitants in Bhola district.

Officer-in-Charge of Eliotganj Highway Thana Monjurul Alam said the accident occured as the driver of the truck lost his control over steering wheels and hit another parked truck on the highway, leaving the four people dead on the spot, he added.
